Google offers some of the best software features available on any Android smartphone. When developing the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, Google wanted them to be the best smartphones for making a phone call, thanks to a handful of software features.
One software feature that may be useful to many Pixel users is called Clear Calling, released in December 2022 for Google’s latest flagship phones: Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.
What is ClearCalling?
Clear Calling is a feature that helps reduce background noise during phone calls and makes the other party’s voice clearer. The feature works whether you are on Wi-Fi or cellular. Clear Calling is one of the features that uses machine learning to provide unique software features for Google smartphones.

Why you should turn on Clear Calling
Having a lot of background noise during calls can be very annoying in general, especially if you’re on the receiving end. If you are someone who receives a lot of phone calls with people who may be in noisy environments, this feature may be beneficial for you. Not to mention, Clear Calling is a free feature, so there’s no reason not to have it enabled.
How to activate clear calls
Enabling Clear Calling on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro is a simple process. You do not need to contact your carrier to do this. You can enable it directly from your device’s settings app. Before you go through the process, make sure you’ve updated your Pixel 7 or 7 Pro to ensure it has the December release feature. To enable Clear Calling:
- Open settings.
- Tap sound and vibration.
- Scroll down and tap delete call.
- Activate Use clear calls.
Enjoy phone calls with less background noise
Now that you have Clear Calling enabled, it can help you experience better phone calls on your Pixel 7 or 7 Pro. As a result, you won’t have to put up with as much background noise on phone calls as before.
