What is Private Share on Samsung phones?
Private Share is a built-in file sharing tool on Samsung Galaxy phones that helps you securely share personal files such as confidential business documents, family vlogs, medical reports, ID documents, and more.
Private Share is one of many Samsung apps pre-installed on your Galaxy device and cannot be disabled or uninstalled as it is part of the One UI software skin.

Private Share is only available on Samsung Galaxy phones running Android version 9 or higher. The recipient of your shared files must also have a compatible Samsung device.
How to use Samsung Private Share to send files
Follow these steps to share files with Private Share:
- Go to Settings > Security and privacy > Private sharing and touch Continueand touch Let if the app asks for permissions.
- Tap Share files and choose the type of file you want to send, select your file and touch Done.
- Tap select from contactschoose who you want to send this file to and touch Done.
- Set an expiration date for how long the recipient can access this file and tap Send.
- If the recipient does not have the Private Share app, you can invite them via SMS, QR code, or other apps. Once they accept the invitation and install the app, the files will be shared.
Share files securely with Samsung Private Share
Sending sensitive content requires extra precautions, and Private Share makes it easy to share files securely with others without the risk of invasion of privacy or loss of property.
Please remember that Private Share is an exclusive Samsung feature and is not available anywhere other than the Galaxy Store. If you use a non-Samsung Android phone, you cannot use Private Share; be wary of third-party apps that try to imitate it, as they could be spyware designed to collect your sensitive data.
