Samsung Galaxy phones come with many pre-installed apps. But which ones are okay to disable or uninstall? Here’s what you need to know.
Deleting apps you know you won’t be using is one of the first things you should do when setting up a new Android phone. This is especially true for Galaxy devices as they come with many Samsung apps pre-installed.
In this article, we list common Samsung and Google apps that you can uninstall or disable on your Galaxy phone to save storage, battery life, and processing power. You can easily find these apps in the apps menu in your device’s settings.
Samsung apps that can be uninstalled
One of the worst things about Samsung phones is the number of bloatware apps that come pre-installed on your device. While some of them are quite useful, many of them don’t really provide much value and you’re better off uninstalling them.

These are the Samsung apps that you can uninstall from your Galaxy device:
- samsung internet
- Samsung Members
- samsung music
- samsung kids
- bixby dictation
- PHOTO DECORATION
- Game Booster Plus
- Health Platform
- samsung health
- Samsung Notes Add-ons
- smart switch
- Samsung Translator
- Voice recorder
Uninstalling these apps won’t ruin your phone, but there are some useful pre-installed Samsung apps you might want to consider keeping.
Samsung apps that can be disabled
Some Samsung apps are built into the system itself and therefore cannot be uninstalled, but you can still disable them. This way, they don’t run in the background wasting battery life, RAM, and processing power. Also, you can hide apps you don’t use from the home screen or app drawer.

These are the Samsung apps that you can disable on your Galaxy device:
- AR doodle
- augmented reality emoji
- AR Emoji Stickers
- Bixby voice
- Calendar
- game launcher
- link to windows
- my galaxy
- OneDrive
- samsung pay
- samsung max
- Samsung visit in
Google apps that can be removed
Along with Samsung apps, you can also remove some Google apps without worrying that doing so will ruin your phone. Since Google controls Android, many Google apps are closely tied to the broader Android system and therefore should not be tampered with.

For example, you probably shouldn’t remove important apps like Google, Maps, Gmail, Photos, Chrome, Drive, and Google Play Services. But you can easily uninstall or disable the following apps if they are of no use to you:
- Google Play Games
- google news
- Google Play Services for AR
- Google translator
- Google voice services
Get rid of apps you don’t use
While Android phones from other manufacturers like Google, Asus or Motorola come with mostly clean software, Samsung’s One UI is full of all sorts of apps that you may not find useful and therefore should be uninstalled or disable them.
In addition to pre-installed bloatware, there are many other types of apps that you should uninstall from your phone to make it work better and save storage space. If you’re curious about what they are, check out our guide below.
